Youth Ballroom & Latin Dance Academy North Canton

At Prestige Ballroom Dance Studios, we believe in the development of our Youth, and take great pride in being the most elite program in the Akron/Canton area. Our Youth Ballroom & Dance Academy has two levels: Beginner and Beginner Plus.

The Beginner Class is designed for students that have never had dance experience and/or are under the age of ten. Once a student starts in the Beginner Class, it is at the teacher’s discretion to advance them to the next level.

The Beginner Plus Class is designed for students that have had limited dance experience, have graduated from the Beginner Class and/or are eleven and older.

If you are unsure what level your child would fall into, please do not hesitate to call or email the Ballroom - we will be happy to assist you!

Youth Ballroom & Latin Dance Academy FAQ:

What time are classes?

The Beginner Class will meet Wednesday afternoons from 4:45pm until 5:25pm.

The Beginner Plus Class will meet Monday afternoons from 4:45pm until 5:25pm.

What is the tuition?

Tuition via online or credit card is $58 per month for the first child, $48 per month for the second child*. Three or more children in the same household, family max is $155 per month. This will be a monthly, reoccurring charge beginning October, 2023 through June, 2023. Register on or before October 1, 2023 for a waived registration fee. After the first month, a cash discount is available. Ask your teacher for more details.

What is the dress code?

For the benefit of all dancers, gentlemen are to wear corduroy pants, kakis, or dress pants with a collared shirt. This may be a polo or button-up. Ladies are to wear ballet leotards with a ballet skirt and tights, or a longer lyrical skirt. Dresses with spandex shorts underneath may also be worn.

NO ATHLETIC ATTIRE OF ANY SORT (ie. sweatpants, leggings, hoodies). CLOTHES SHOULD BE IN GOOD CONDITION AND FREE OF APPARENT WRINKLES, RIPS, OR STAINS.

For younger students, hair should be secured in a presentable ponytail, braid, or bun. Older students may be permitted to wear their hair down so long as it is not a distraction to them in class.

Students are to wear ballroom shoes that are secured to their feet and in good repair. Street shoes (ie. Crocs, flip-flops, dirty tennis shoes) are not permitted. Students should bring a second pair of shoes to change into upon arrival. This helps maintain the integrity of the ballroom floor along with the shoes. Beginner shoes can be found on Amazon. Prestige Ballroom offers higher-quality shoes that are designed to personally fit each student. We will be happy to assist you in finding the correct shoes.

*”Child” is defined as a child living in your household that the same parents are financially responsible for.
