WHAT DO YOU TEACH?
We provide instruction on two main styles: American and International dancing. Within these styles, we teach Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Rumba, Cha-Cha, Eastern and Western Swing, Samba, Mambo, Merengue, Bolero, Viennese Waltz, and Paso Doble.
WILL MY LESSONS BE AT THE SAME TIME EVERY WEEK?
Not necessarily. To accommodate your busy schedule, we have varied appointment times available Monday through Friday. Our appointments start at 10:00am and end at 10:30pm.
HOW SHOULD I DRESS?
Some students arrive for lessons straight from work while others come dressed more casually. We ask that students do not wear “workout attire” such as leggings, athletic shorts, etc. It is important to wear clothing that you can easily move around the floor in. Comfortable shoes are also important. We suggest leather-soled shoes for gentlemen and shoes with a back for ladies. Athletic shoes (Crocs, running shoes, etc) do not work well on the ballroom floor because they stick, making it difficult to properly move.
WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS OF THE DANCE INSTRUCTORS?
All of our instructors are dedicated to helping you discover the joy of ballroom dancing while making your learning experience enjoyable, educational, and fun! Some have fine art degrees while others are active competators and award-winning professional dancers. All of the teachers have sucessfully completed the rigorous work required to become, and remain, a certified teacher in the art. You can read more on our “how to choose your ballroom dance” teacher page.
DO I NEED A PARTNER?
At both Prestige locations, you do not need a partner. If you come in as a single student, your instructor will be your partner for private lessons. In addition, our group classes and practice sessions will provide plenty of opportunities to meet and dance with others that share the same interests and goals!
WHAT IS THE COST OF LESSONS?
We offer several membership programs that vary in price and are designed to fit each students’ specific interests. For new students, we recommend our Trial Membership.
HOW DO I GET STARTED?
That is easy! just enroll on one of our “Trial Membership” courses, call or text us at 330-244-6215 or email us at info@prestigeballroom.com or After completing and submitting one of the above, we will contact you to learn about your dance goals and help you set up your first lesson!
